Alesis Serial Midi Interface is NOT required for use with QSEDITPRO. QSEDITPRO will work with any MIDI interface. However there are some advantages of using serial cable midi connection:

• It enhances performance (up to 4 times faster than regular midi connection) -  significantly reducing data transfer time between QS and PC - specially noticeable when programming flash cards
• Gives you another independent Midi Interface for your system
• Alesis Serial Driver is "MULTICLIENT" - meaning that the interface can be used by more than one program application in the same time

 

To setup your computer to use Serial Cable you need special cable with D-Sub connector on one side as Mac mini 8-pin Din connector on the other side.

Also you need to install Alesis Serial Driver: SerialDriver_v304.zip

The Alesis Serial Driver may not work correctly with  Win2000. If you have problem with running Alesis Serial Driver with Win2000 you may contact us for suggestions and solutions.
